Welcome
Celebrating the quiet beauty of an ordinary life.
Hello, and welcome.
I’m Ellena, and if you’ve found your way here, thank you for stopping by.
I’ve thought about starting a blog more times than I can count. Like many people, I told myself I needed to have something important to say before I began.
The truth is, I don’t have all the answers.
What I do have is a life that’s changing in ways I never expected.
I’m 45, building a business from the ground up, learning to live with osteoarthritis, rediscovering the joy of baking and cooking from scratch, growing herbs in the garden, reading more, asking bigger questions about faith and purpose, and slowly learning that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.
For a long time I thought I needed to wait until I’d “arrived” before I could write about the journey.
Now I think the journey is the interesting part.
This isn’t a newsletter about having everything figured out.
It’s a place for honest reflections on ordinary life.
You can expect stories from my kitchen, the garden and the books on my bedside table. I’ll share what I’m learning as I build a business, navigate life with chronic pain, and try to create a slower, more intentional way of living. Some posts may simply be observations from a quiet walk or something that made me stop and think.
If any of that resonates with you, I’d love for you to stay.
I’ll be writing once a week, sharing the moments, lessons and little joys that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
Whether you’re here because you’re rebuilding, slowing down, searching for something, or simply enjoy reading about everyday life, you’re very welcome.
Pop the kettle on, get comfortable, and let’s see where this journey leads.
With love,
Ellena 🌿
P.S. If this sounds like the sort of corner of the internet you’d enjoy visiting, I’d be delighted if you subscribed and shared it with someone who might like to come along too.

This is so beautiful Ellena! And I relate to so much of what you’ve said and even the season you’re in - building a business from scratch, moving through life with a chronic condition, finding little joys and beauty anyway. What you’re building here sounds a bit dreamy. Looking forward to following along. 🤍
